Sewing & Graphic Design

This is a poster I designed for my sewing room. You might say, “What does sewing have to do with graphic design?” Well, for me it’s where I got started designing. I was about 8 years old and the mother of one of my friends sewed a little jacket and blanket for one of my dolls. When I saw that, I was absolutely fascinated with how she made it and I was hooked on sewing! Fortunately, my Grandma was an expert seamstress and well known for her skills in our little town of Port Edwards. She taught me everything I needed to know and I absolutely loved designing things I wanted to make; clothes, curtains, pillows, anything I happened to need at the time. That’s where I learned to design things, and when you sit down to design a newsletter or brochure you are doing the same thing. You’re creating, building and assembling everything into a final piece. For me, it’s as much fun as sewing! So if you need an artistic graphic for a special place in your home, we could design a poster that tells your story too!
